Capabilities and Limitations of U.S. Human and Technical Intelligence Collection Programs Capabilities and Limitations ofU.S. Human and Technical Intelligence Collection ProgramsSecurity within the homeland and the eternal territory depends upon an effective intelligence unit. The unit depends upon available resources to evaluate a certain occurrence and determine potential threat to the country. The human and technical intelligence is required to ascertain the capability and effectiveness of a given model.

The human intelligence is a major component in determining the effectiveness of a certain system. The US Human intelligence has been effective given the integral role is has played. The failures of the system are attributed to the fact that the counterintelligence models are more concern on foreign policy hence overlooking the threat the social environment posses (Steele 2007, 97-100). The human intelligence is involved in the strategic phase of intelligence where failures at this point may render a given model ineffective.

The political component emerges when monetary components take place. In the USA scenario the budget allocated to matters military and intelligence has been in place hence highlighting the effectiveness of the human intelligence (Steele 2007, 102). The technical intelligence goes hand in hand with the human intelligence. Historical events suggest the capability of the technical intelligence within the USA jurisdiction and the manner in which they have been used to perform various intelligence functions.

Glamar Explorer is an example of technical capability of the intelligence components (Pike 2012). The explorer successfully performed its function by retrieving the sunken submarine. The technical ability is what places the USA intelligence above board. Independent units across the security sector have been enjoin to ensure effectiveness and minimize loopholes while sourcing intelligence and acting on intelligence reports. The US Segment Upgrade program is an amalgamation of the Central Intelligence Agency and the air force to deal with matters intelligence(Pike 2002 ).

Collaboration within the intelligence circle positively affects the performance of the security unit. The effectiveness of this approach makes it possible for technological and human intelligence to work and produces the desired results.
