They do so by denouncing majority of the modernised theories that are being put forward by several theologists. Many of the modern theologists propagate the school of thought that insists that the process of salvation was a duty and it belonged to the Catholics themselves. The theories above provide sufficient evidence that shows that salvation and what it entails belongs to the church.

Modern Catholics are watering down on the role of Mary in the redemption of mankind. This is by paying greater attention to the role played by God in the process of redemption (Erickson, 2000). Traditional theorists praise the role of Mary in the Roman Catholic Theology. This is by insisting on the teaching and understanding on the teaching of Marianism. They insist that Mary’s role in the general process of redemption can be compared to that of Christ. They insist that if it were not for her, the role of Christ could not have materialised.

They draw this theory by teaching that Mary was the mother of God (Erickson, 2000). The process at which she conceived was nothing short of a miracle. It was a process that was without sin. Mary was entirely pure as she conceived, gave birth and even in her lifetime. Her pure nature is a representation of her sainthood and it should be acclaimed in even in this modern times (McGrath, 2007). The two theories insist that even in the current times, there are traditional theories that should be upheld because of their sanctity and value in the lives of many people.

These are the people who strongly adhere to the Roman Catholic doctrines. They insist on the doctrines of traditionally accepted Roman doctrines because they have a firm conviction that they form the basis of modern practises and principles of Catholic ideas and general ideologies (McGrath, 2007).
