October 13, Church Administration Theological Paper Dr. Bryant Situational Norm Paper: Together we Grow I used to ask God to help me”, Hudson (2010) Helping others is a responsibility and dispensation that Lord has specified to everyone. Using our spiritual reward we put up, assist and sustain the entire community to develop them and help them rise in life. As Hudson Taylor (2010) said and I quote, "I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help Him.  I ended up by asking God to do His work though me. 1" Mission Statement and Importance of the Ministry: The “Together We Grow” ministry plays an important role because it helps in gathering the adults and adolescents with cerebral or mental disabilities. It further provides opportunities to them by making them worship together just like any other normal individual; this helps them feel like a part of the society. It provides an encouraging worship environment which helps in the betterment of consumers and helps in the improvement of their thinking and adaptive skills in a way that they start considering themselves a useful and normal part of this society and community. The leaders and priests of the ministry are responsible for giving hope, tolerance to the disabled people. They show real concern for those who are having disabilities and other problems which need extra care. They want to provide them with facilities which help them improve. The church decides how to allocate the resources to meet the needs of the needy ones. Theological Norm in brief The ministry helps in the establishment of respect of these individuals. The people with mental disabilities were not able to engage in activities like going to church and to lead a healthy life. The ministry helps in the reestablishment of the rights of such people and helps them gain their status back. It is not human to segregate them rather we should help in making them live their life to fullest. Furthermore, the ministry documents the information factually and dispassionately about the child or adult who is included in the ministry. A documented interview benefits everyone serving the person which is held by the ministry as well. A signed form is taken which helps in the church’s risk management policy. Initial screening process is done to determine whether the person being helped is actually needy and disabled or not and privacy and security of client records is assured by the ministry as well. Thus, the ministry is fully devoted to the betterment of the disabled. 2. Situational Norm The ministry “Together We Grow” does not discriminate on the basis of religion and mysticism. Social events by priest are held to provide care and love for God’s creation. The ministry has faith in gospels which conveys deliverance absolutely which includes salivation from crime, poverty, desire, human rights, ecological shortage and so on. The economical and environmental problems we are facing among the human beings are due to the fact that we have desecrated laws of environment. There should not be discrimination on the life on has to lead on the basis of his normal or disabled mental status. Any individual having disability should also serve the community and add to its growth and vision rather than living a life of misery and become a symbol of melancholy. In some African cultures when a child having disability was born, he was killed in order to "cleanse" the homestead. Such a birth, it was believed, implied that some calamity or catastrophe would transpire the family. Others believed that when somebody bewitches the family, a child with disability is born.2 The ministry rises beyond the absolute of people in order to carry out its visionary mission of complete environmental and spiritual deliverance. It has strong views towards the devastation of the environment. Though, the description of religion by environmentalism is taken on by foremost societal scientists of the twentieth century. According to them, environment is God’s gift to each one of us and it is our reasonability to take care of it. We should respect the God’s creation. Moreover, one should not involve himself in atmospheric exploitation that includes land, water, air or any natural thing. Before getting on with the administrative function of the church, let’s analyze the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that are related to the ministry. Strengths: The people working in the ministry are very sincere and loyal. The ministry has good collection of books and religious documents. There have been some good discussions about the ministry’s environment. The ministry is confident that their consumers and families are really happy with the improvement in the adaptive skills of the mentally retarded or disabled people. Furthermore, they have got a few visitors at the ministry who seem to b very satisfied with the goals and missions and the steps that have been taken to improve their overall performance3. Weaknesses: The ministry still needs more people to come forward and participate in achieving the goals. this includes getting involved in teaching Bible, helping the disabled consumers in raising their self confidence and making them believe that they are SPECIAL not USELESS. Also, the ministry needs more visitors and contacts amongst the community so that more and more people are engaged with the ministry. Opportunities The ministry provides everyone an opportunity to take a bigger part in worship services, teaching classes, acknowledgement of religious nature and enlightening the souls of the disabled by teaching more about Jesus Christ. Threats The major threat that the ministry faces is “discouragement”. It leads to many problems such as backbiting, complaining and finger pointing. Another threat is rapid development, because the ministry needs to make progress speedily as it aims to win in the race of helping the disabled. Risk management is another very important point about which the ministry should b very careful. It is a very big responsibility to provide equal attention to all the consumers. The ministry tries to minimize the risk so that none of the consumers or their families gets a chance to complain about the performance of ministry. The ministry needs to generate more and more funds to ensure complete care for the consumers, improving the environment and climate of the ministry. Ministry needs to hire more instructors and people to work. There is a requirement to give the hired people special training. The training must be free of cost, as it is a noble cause, and that saved money should be used for other important purposes. Self Critiquing is another very important aspect of the ministry. The ministry evaluates itself critically, analyzes its performance and takes different steps so as to improve the performance and provide quality care to consumers before someone else points a finger at the ministry. Developing Awareness about the Ministry’s Achievements by Organizing Training Events Ministry and its leaders want to identify the community and people they are making efforts to reach. Protecting a reputable demographic profile is important in this aspect. The ministries leaders have to be well-educated and organized to give precise guidance to ministry members. Knowledge of aspects such as physical and mental health and advice about the associated areas and community is always significant. Individuals who preach to other men comprehend the advantage of providing relationships that enhance legitimate ministry. Congregational strength supports church leaders in discovering new ideas for the ministry. Training events are presented during the year to assist clergy and helps the leaders in expansion and promotion of the performance and skills essential for building such a vigorous church. The man in the church observes a ministry completely alert to their issues, challenges and welfare. They acquire into the vision and rapidly offer the extra support that is desirable to maintain a good ministry. Developing a Musician’s Ministry in a local church Ministry focuses on those immense people in different areas who help to make it greater and helpful for the worshippers including the disable ones. Young leaders are welcomed as they are more dedicated to keeping the ministry running swiftly to its mission. The ministry focuses on the development of the musician’s ministry because it helps in accumulation of more young leaders, this further helps in the popularity of the ministry generating more funds. Ministry musicians help in setting the mood of congregation and help the worshippers in lifting their influence through motivational songs. Developing a ministry to reach the masses in a local church Demographics profile count gives an overview of the location and assists in building the organizational structure accordingly, whether the ministry lies in an urban or rural area. “We had to bring about a radical change in the way we do church and ... We realized that if we want to reach people in the inner city we have to spread to masses. We realized that if we were going to do what God wanted, we would have to be intentional about racial reconciliation and reaching people4”. By reaching to the masses, the ministry wants to ensure the following things. • Ethnic reconciliation • Caring for the deprived, needy and itinerant • Reaching out the disable people • Teaching resonance policy from God’s word • Training up native minority influential from the inner city • Planting urban churches • Training suburban churches on how to attain community cross culturally Our ministry will examine local trends and demographics, congregations to develop and enhanced counter to the requirements of their communities. Congregations must be more welcoming to beginner by offering more opportunities for mission and alteration. Studying demographic characteristics and Congregation of communities by geographical location is necessary. Growth can be indicated by memberships and attendance of worshipers in the ministry growth, stability and decline matters on that. Somewhat, growth is accomplished by planting new congregations. 3. Conclusion: From the above discussion we conclude that such ministries are very important for the betterment, and for solving many problems. But they need more and more people to come forward voluntarily and to help them achieve their missions. Protecting a reputable demographic profile is important in this aspect. “WYSIWYG” is becoming a phenomenon nowadays. It means that “what you see is what you get”. It not only implies to the graphical world only but is a phenomenon spreading wide across the globe. People get the impression of thousands of things by their outlooks. The ministry also has to establish such an image. They need to look educated and well equipped to help the needy. Also, they need to make sure that people donate to their ministry hence attracting people by different ways e.g. developing a musician’s ministry, developing awareness workshops and reaching out to the masses will prove to be helpful tools. Such type of ministries can help in raising the self confidence of special people. The development of the ministry will help those disabled ones in leading their lives in a better way just like any other normal human being. In addition, raising confidence and making them believe that they are SPECIAL not USELESS. 4.
