The Role of Women in America Women in America have had a very significant role in different fields of life. This has come about because women have felt empowered in nearly all walks of life. Their role has increased enormously with the passage of time and hence the reason that America is considered the super power nation of the world today. Half the American populace is comprised of women and it would be wrong to understand the notion that not putting to good use the skills of women is acceptable. In fact all out efforts are being made on war footings to enable the modern day American woman to feel that she can go out there and make the much needed difference, not only within her own life, but also her family. In essence the role of women within America has exponentially increased with the passage of time, which is a very positive factor if seen within the thick of things as these have unfolded time and time again. This paper will take a look at the women of America and how they have outlined their needs and requirements with the changing times, as an effort has been made to incorporate the most pressing essentials that the women of America face in the time and age of today. It would be adequately sound to state that women in America have felt safe in all segments of the societal undertakings. What this means is that sexual harassment has remained an issue in nearly all workplace regimes but has not overcome the effect of keeping women away from the work domains in entirety. This is a pragmatic move on the part of the American society and thus credit should be given where it is due. The women in America have generally felt safer and secure working as compared to the women in different countries of the world. There is a general level of acceptance within the society as per the work domains of the women which is a good thing and must be appreciated by the top echelons within any society of the world. The women in America are not restricted to any particular areas or fields where they have exerted their energies to the maximum possible levels (Havemann 2007). In fact they are employed as architects, scientists, doctors, paramedics, technicians, teachers and just about every walk of life. The proportion of American women within the different fields is staggering to state the least. This is a clear example of the kind of liberalism that the American women have within their society. It is appreciable because no other society in the world has given their women so much room to exploit their innate strengths and be a part of the social fabric on a consistent basis. Usually there have been restrictions on their pertinent movement, their involvement within different segments of work, and so on. All these aspects have played havoc with the understanding dynamics of women in meticulous. Hence it would be a pity to comprehend that women are generally not given the room where they could develop to best possible levels and thus showcase their talents. American women have removed this barrier that has become a stigma for the other women in the world. They are more powerful and in positions of strength and authority. American women have been hailed left, right and center. They have achieved recognition and importance through the different forms of media. This is a very significant discussion because any society that highlights the achievements of its own people is usually a very happy and satisfied one. The American women have been time and again appreciated for their courage within the military, their role in the different medical fields, the strategic role within the architectural and science segments and so on. The women in America have generally felt contented as far as their respective treatment at the hands of media is concerned. They are free to move anywhere, can individually take part in all competitions and events, and are very liberal in their thinking and work patterns. They are usually not made accountable for their actions or the lack thereof, which is an indication of the kind of free world that America is in essence (Schroeder 1995). The American women have thus stood up for their rights whenever they have felt subjugated at the hands of the authorities and they know this for sure that the laws of the United States of America are firm and will take complete control of their lives no matter how difficult the circumstances turn out to be. Same is not the case within the different nations of the world, as far as promulgation of rights of women and minorities are concerned. The best aspect about America is that the women have felt free, not only in mind but also in letter and spirit which is a very significant factor whilst jotting down the pertinent needs of the major half of the American population. It is important that women are given the cover that they so richly require, so that they could comprehend the true meaning of freedom and independence whilst living within the superpower nation of the world. The American women have a reason to feel liberated. This has come about with the sacrifices of the women leaders, workers, advocates of equality and so on. The present day leaders hold fast on to the age-old dictum of giving the American women the right to do just about any and everything, similar to men. They can vote, take part in different governmental and private jobs, be role models in their respective domains and thus contribute towards the overall betterment of the American society, which indeed is the primary motive of the Government of United States of America. This has generally benefited the people in the long run and hence the government has become stronger as a result of the same enactments within the law of the land. The American women have the right to feel aggrieved when they see the women from other nations of the world fighting for their most basic rights and are stuck in a battle of survival. What they could do in this relation is somewhat of a question mark over their respective position within the American society. However it is expected that American women will stand up and work hand in hand with the women of the world to liberate them as well, and give them the right to feel free because this is something that holds immense importance within the global fulcrum of men and women (Chesler 1997). The leaders should also realize their respective roles and allow the American women to feel completely at home within the nation when it comes to enacting laws and procedures which look after the rights of both genders. This is an important disposition because women form up the half of the population and hence no one can deny or forfeit their respective rights at all. It is the duty of the women in America to come out stronger whenever they feel they are being let down by the men or the different functions within the government, which are essentially coining in new policies and drafting legislations with each passing day. There is a need to remain vigilant as per the demands that these women need to make as it depends a great deal on their long term survival. In the end, it would be fitting to state that the American women are at an advantage as they can do anything within their homeland. The same is not the case for the sake of women in different nations of the world. It would be very wise to state here that the American women are the most advanced and liberated women in the whole world. They know that they can make a serious difference within their lives and can implement just about everything they want. This mere feeling is filled with a sense of fulfillment and completion when one tries to understand the extent to which they can exercise their rights and be a part of the social and moral fabric of the American society. All said and done, the American women have created a huge impact upon their lives and the same will continue to be the case in the times to come.
