But with time, this concept was not found to work and many of the development projects that were implemented by the government or other development agencies collapsed immediately they were handed over to the community. But with time this was changed by studies which showed the importance of working in partnership with the community in initiating development projects in that particular community. It was found out that involving the community in their own development helps to come up with sustainable solutions to the problems that they are facing and also it helps to address the core problems. The Ponderosa Pine Forest Partnership in New Mexico has also been one of the success stories in instances of community development projects.
