The old-school perception of classifying individuals on the basis of formal and acceptable academic qualifications is so ingrained even in today’s education system that children are being stereotyped as brilliant and non-brilliant on that basis. Children at schools are treated no differently than on factory lines and; it’s more about the conformity of following standardized portfolio.

I strongly agree with Sir Robinson’s analysis and the need to change the whole paradigm of education in order to keep pace with the changing times. In today’s intensely competitive world, it’s not about excelling in academics but it’s about the practical exposure to real-world scenarios. It’s the clarity of thoughts and creative excellence to everything one gets involved in that could get one ahead in life. It’s time to change the old-school conception of educationists, where children are indirectly being forced to limit their creative approach as they are discouraged to think differently and are compelled to conform to the conventional standards. Every individual is different and is blessed with different capabilities, the education system must be so designed that the capacity of individuals is garnered rather than restricted.
