ty have no control over the place they would want to live, the places they would want to stay, the fancy things they would want to buy and the life they would like to live. This is because lack of money plays a very big role in shaping the lives of these people. Such people also don’t have control over the type of education they would want their children to have.
The way a society views the poor people in the society also affects their behavior. Some of the rich people in the society look down upon the poor people. They end up mistreating poor people because they have financial might. The rich people offer poor people jobs and pay them peanuts. This ensures that the poor people will always work for them, and the cycle of poverty continues (Giddens 156). The money they earn is barely enough to pay for their basic needs and as such they cannot save money to invest and be able to overcome the cycle of poverty
On the other hand, the elite people in the society have control over a number of things. They decide on the places they would want to live, the type of life they would want to live, the type of schools they would want their children to go to and the places they would want to work. Such people are filthy rich, drive posh cars and can keep up with the current fashion trends. They also live in very posh neighborhoods and usually have people who work for them. They can decide when to hire and when to fire depending on the output of their employees.
The elite people also have things that they do not have control over. They can’t force people to work for them. They also cannot be able to control some natural processes like aging, although they may try to hide it. They also don’t have political power and also don’t have any power over the government and the decisions it makes.
