Workplace isolation is a phenomenon that involves a worker feeling lonely in the work environment. It is a state where an individual does not have someone to talk to, crack a joke with during work breaks, or just share the spirit of work enthusiastically (Arora, 2012). The situation, though not readily noticeable, often occur in organizations irrespective of the size. I think the workers in mental health facilities experience workplace isolation of highest degree because the people they interact with are out of touch with feelings or the happenings around them. That makes it difficult for such workers to bond with their patients hence creating the lonely feeling.
