Among these organizations, three most popular organizations are Apple, Dell and Hewlett-Packard (HP). These three organizations serve the markets with certain innovative and modern technology driven laptops which comprise Apple’s MacBook Pro, Dell’s Inspiron 15R and HP’s Pavilion among others. Generally, the features of these laptops differ in accordance with price, size and capacity among others in the markets. Thesis Statement The paper intends to provide a comparison among three laptop computers, i.e. Apple-MacBook Pro, Dell-Inspiron and HP-Pavilion based on certain pertinent features that are required to be considered while making a purchase decision. Features of Laptops MacBook Pro is a sub-brand of Apple which was introduced in the markets in 2006. The features of this particular laptop can be identified as the laptop consists of OSX operating system with retina display sizing 15.4 inch (Schermerhorn, Davidson, Poole, Simon, Woods, and Chau 28). Moreover, MacBook Pro has 2.3GHz quad-core Intel core i7 processor and the memory configuration is 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L onboard memory. Furthermore, the storage capacity of MacBook Pro is recognized as 256 GB and 512 GB with 512 GB or 768 GB flash storage and the cost of this model is US$ 2199 and US$ 2799 due to certain difference in display sizes (Apple Inc., “MacBook Pro”). Dell-Inspiron is one of the leading brands of Dell which has certain models such as New Inspiron 13z, 1z ultrabook, 15 and 15R. Furthermore, New Inspiron 15R has been considered among others which has Windows 7 operating system and the display size is 15.6”. It is also observed that the cost of 15R varies from US$ 549.99 to US$ 799.99 according to the processor, memory and storage factors. The processors configured in Inspiron are Intel Core i3, i5 and i7, as well as the available memory configurations, include 6 GB to 8 GB. Additionally, the hard disk storage capacity also varies from 500 GB to 1 TB (Dell, “New Inspiron 15R Laptop”). Pavilion series of laptops is designed by Hewlett-Packard (HP) which has certain models such as DV4000, DV1000, ZD8000 and ZV5000 among others. The features of this particular laptop model, i.e. HP Pavilion can be illustrated as this model has Intel Pentium M Processor 740A and uses the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition as the operating system. As a result, the individual will also have distinctive facilities and services while using the laptops. Conclusion and Recommendation of the Laptop to Purchase with Reasons Based upon the differences among the three companies’ laptops Apple-MacBook Pro, Dell–Inspiron and HP–Pavilion, it can be stated that Dell-New Inspiron 15R is comparatively the best laptop to buy among the three laptops. This is because New Inspiron 15R has the latest and most sought after operating system which is Windows 7. According to the market trends, it is observed that the demand for the Windows 7 operating system is rising which can be recognized from the fact that the demand or usage figure of it in January 2012 was 47.1% which rose to 54.5% in August 2012 (Refsnes Data, “OS Platform Statistics”). Display size of New Inspiron 15R is comparatively appropriate and greater as compared to the other laptops for an individual while using this particular laptop. The processor which is used to manufacture the Inspiron 15R model by Dell is one of the most popular and used processors in the world namely Intel Core i7 (Shvets). Generally, Inspiron 15R has a suitable and manageable memory configuration which can help the individual efficiently in terms of using computer games and software which at times demand for greater memory to run because it consists of 6GB to 8GB. As compared to the two laptops, MacBook Pro and Pavilion, Inspiron 15R has the certain additional storage capacity which is identified as 500 GB to 1 TB. Contextually, the price of Inspiron 15R differs according to the features of the model; this is because its price ranges from US$ 599.99 to US$ 799.99. Considering the available features the price seems to quite reasonable. Thus, from an overall point of view, Dell-New Inspiron 15 R can be the recommended laptop for purchasing.
