Introduction


The concept of Wi-Fi is itself a product of the modern world and the first question that has to be sorted out in this regard is about the nature of the project that is to be implemented. After that is the question of the method of implementation of the project. The subject is new enough for it to be spelt in two different ways across the Atlantic, Wi Fi and Wi-Fi. The two sets of names have their own meanings. The combination, Wi-Fi does not mean Wireless-Fidelity, but was developed by Wi-Fi alliance and Interbrand Corporation together as a description of certain wireless products that are based on the 802.11 standards of IEEE. The item is also called WiFi, Wi-fi, Wifi or wifi and meets only a set of standards for compatibility for wireless local area networks. At the same time, the old standards are changing and new standards are on the anvil like the WiMAX standards. The changes are mainly in the areas of longer range and higher transfer speeds. Originally the concerned chips were supposed to be used for mobile devices and local area networks, but are now also used for connecting to the Internet.
