Repurposing an existing can create a new meaning. This has been seen from past creative works that have been placed in different settings for diverse roles that include learning and recreation. A critical assessment of the works belonging to iconic artists like Hannah Höch and Sherrie Levine proves this observation (Carroll 180). Although these are personalities of Germany and United States respectively, sample of the works and repurposing aspect supports the renewed effect.
Both the artists repurposed past photographs to bring in new meaning. Although controversy may have arisen in terms of legality of their act, the level of creativity redefined from their works has stood to justify a different interpretation. Consider the works below;
