In order to improve the conditions of the university, there should be the installation of the electronic cashier, more exits and entrances and a more appealing painting. In order to recommend, the changes will cost around $ 174,000 and will improve the appearance and comfort of the cafeteria. The service delivery during the meals will also be improved too. INTRODUCTION Problem Statement The cafeterias’ wall painting colors is inadequate and do not fit in the university’s surrounding. This is one of the challenges that need to be addressed. Other significant challenges include the queuing on the ordering lines for meals as well as the checkout lines’ queuing. The queuing causes strange behaviors. Also, the cafeteria lacks adequate space for seats and enough trashcans-the furniture available are not comfortable. In addition, the computers which are not updated slowly down the service delivery at the cafeteria. The above conditions result to the inadequate circulation of the students within the cafeteria. Moreover, the cafeteria has few entrances and exits and suffers from the noise from the surrounding that disrupts the students and the university staff. Solution Organizing and rearranging the seating areas within the cafeteria to allow smooth circulation. The cafeteria station zoning also needs to be organized well so as to improve the flow. The inadequate wall paintings of the cafeteria should be adjusted with comfortable and friendly colors that match and blend easily with the surrounding. The majority prefer blue and green for the spaces. This will make the cafeteria more attractive to the students. The noise that interferes with the students should be controlled by alleviating the overcrowding at the cafeteria. The congestion requires the improvements in the serving of the students, for instance, more cashiers should be employed to make the services at the counter faster. The increase in the number of the clerks should be supplemented by an increase in the number of the computers at the cafeteria. The quick service in turn will allow the rapid circulation and little time for, In addition, the problem of the serving lines that are congested should be organized so as to alleviate the serving delays. Students will be more comfortable and serve within a short period. Moreover, the size of the cafeteria’s furniture should be increased to accommodate every student at the university. More large sized furniture should be purchased into the cafeteria. Objective The proposal’s objective is to renovate the university’s cafeteria. The aim of the renovation is to establish a comfortable environment both for the university and the students. With the comfortable and suitable environment, students will enjoy learning and various services at the cafeteria. Background The project on the Environment Psychology has confirmed that indeed there are various challenges and problems in the cafeteria that need to be addressed. In accordance with the user’s perception, social and physical dimension as well as the behavior confirm that, the cafeteria have inadequate facilities. For instance, in the research findings, more 56.52% entrance and exits, 56.52 % chairs, 60.8% trashcans, among others were required to supplement the cafeteria’s facilities. In addition, the services at the cafeteria experience shortages. For instance, there are few computers and few cashiers, thereby resulting in more time in the service delivery. Also in the research findings, the majority prefers the paintings of the spaces to be done in blue and green as the current wall painting are unsuitable for the university’s environment. Moreover, the computers that are not updated and the noise have many impacts on the users while accomplishing their various tasks. However, the research shows that the cafeteria’s lighting is suitable for the students and the university as a whole. Additionally, both the exit and the entrance to the cafeteria are easily recognized allowing smooth entry and exit from the cafeteria. The nature of the doors and the entrance of the cafeteria promote the continuous circulation. Nevertheless, the most required need for the cafeteria is trashcans. The cafeteria requires 60.8% more trashcans. Data Sources The data used in the proposal will be obtained from the observational sheets, questionnaire, and the pie charts and bar charts that are drawn from the questionnaire. In the observational sheets, there will be tables that include elements such as the nature of employment and identity. The vital elements to be included in the tables are the user’s behavior as well as the user’s perception. From the data in the questionnaires, there will be bar charts and pie charts to evaluate and analyze the information. Scope and limitation The general appearance of the cafeteria will be improved so that it becomes more appealing. The general appearance of the cafeteria will be adjusted so that it becomes attractive. For instance, the spaces will be painted blue and green to blend with the university’s environment. From increasing the comfort of the cafeteria to promoting smooth circulation, the size of the furniture there will be the need to increase the size of the furniture as well as the number of exits and entrances. The changes should be friendly to the surrounding environment as well as to the administration of the university. For instance, however, how much the furniture’s’ size should be improved for more comfort, it should not be done in a way that the picture is no longer that of a school equipment. The painting adjustments must not also just work with the university’s preference and not any other style. DISCUSSION Methods The methodological paper will be reviewing the objectives of the research. It will be aiming at discussing intensely the matters that will arise. This will be done alongside conducting the qualitative research with individuals at the university. The research will be on the desired space that ought to be achieved during the renovation process, and the comparison would be made between the library and the new building cafeteria. The focus will look at the perception and behaviors of those who will be utilizing the facilities. The participants will include the students, the staffs, and the other workers at the university who will be taking part in this qualitative research. The paper’s structure follows the chronological stages of conducting the research. It comprises the research design, the data collection procedure, the ethical considerations of the research as well as the method that will be applied in data analysis and reporting. The common and unique problems that would be met by data collection will as well be established and addressed ranging from the researchers’ approaches and guidance. This review is inclusive of not only the discussed literature on the methodology of the study research but also contains a substantial literature indicating the description of the different methods used in the research. It does not have claims, transparency and reliability to the systematic, detailed review but rather there is a reiteration of the informed literature provision synthesized for the purpose of practicality (Newman, 2006). Research design The significant objective of this study that would be to renovate the university cafeteria. The renovation is to create a suitable and comfortable condition of the cafeteria for both the students and other occupants will take the aspect of qualitative and quantitative design. The study will be ground mostly on the experiences and the views of the respondents. However, even in this study design it would be upon the researcher to make up the mind on the overall research questions. The researcher will ask the questions while conducting the research as well as in gathering, analysis and interpretation of the obtained data from the research study. The quantitative and qualitative study will be performed in a cross-sectional way. The method is time-saving and at the same time aids in the provision of the magnitude of the data got from the field that could further if need there be, used in the formulation of hypothesis. It will additionally aid in providing the researcher with additional elaborate, extensive and realistic information from the respondents alongside the provision of quantitative and qualitative data (Johns, 2008). MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT Sampling and data collection procedures Convenience sampling technique will be adopted for the study. Tis will be because the inclusion criteria in the research would be the available students, the staffs and the workers who would be found within the university environment during the time of data collection. Any case relevant to be included in the study apart from the named category as per the researcher would be considered in the inclusion criteria hence would be involved in the convenience sampling. Formal interviews will be conducted for the study among the professional staffs of the senior workers who will help in the provision of secondary data which would hence help in making comparisons of the data collected. During these interviews, the researcher would also take a keen look on authenticity that is the general fair representation and expression of ideas and views while looking on the contexts and the strategies. This will aid in giving the credibility and reliability of the information obtained from the other sources. Simple structured questionnaires would also be used in collecting the primary data from the respondents. These pieces of questionnaires would be administered to the students, the faculty as well as the staffs. They will fill in relation to their satisfaction with the cafeteria food, furniture’s’ size and comfort, alongside other variables in the study. The questionnaires would be designed in both the open and closed-ended structures to incorporate all the ranges of responses. They will cover entirely all the factors that ought to be put into consideration during renovation concerning the designing the cafeteria and the library spacing. This tool would be preferable in the collection of data at this point since it would be cheaper and at the same time easier to administer to several students and staffs. Most importantly, it will be open-ended, therefore, will include a reflection of all the other thoughts that might not have been included and are relevant to decision-making (Johns, 2008). The study will also use an observational sheet that will integrate the respondent’s perception that will mostly give a view of their knowledge of the current state of the cafeteria in tabulated form. The aspects of gender, the age and faculties would also be included in the observational sheet. Physical aspects, as well as the natures of the furnitures in both the library and the cafeteria, would as well be reflected in the checklist during the data collection process. Data analysis The data obtained from the research will be analyzed using the SPSS software version 20.0 and would be interpreted and presented in the form of tables, graphs and charts. The guiding factor in the data interpretation would be the theoretical framework for the study. Primary data will be combined with secondary data to arrive at the conclusions of the research (Newman, 2006). Ethical considerations The authorization to collect the data by the researcher will be obtained from the university management, and the informed consent will be sought from the study participants before their participation in the study. COST ESTIMATIONS Item Cost per each Totals in dollars 1. Trashcans 400 @ 10 4,000 2. Electronic cashiers 10 @ 10,000 100,000 3. Computers and printers 40 @ 500 20,000 4. Paints 500 gallons @ 100 50,000 Totals 174,000 CONCLUSION If the university does not renovate the cafeteria, the present conditions of the cafeteria are likely to worsen. The queues will increase; there will be more overcrowding, more noise, unpleasant appearance, and even more discomfort in the furniture. This proposal is meant to prevent and correct the current conditions of the cafeteria. For instance, the plan advocates for more exits and entrances towards reducing the overcrowding and enhance smooth circulation. It also aims at improving the general appearance of the cafeteria by repainting the walls blue and green. We recommend $ 174,000 for the cafeteria’s operating budget allocations. $ 4,000 will be channeled towards the purchase of more trashcans, $100,000 for the installation of the electronic cashier. New computers and printers will consume $ 20,000. Finally, $ 50,000 will be used to buy blue and green paints.
