This report provides extensive coverage of fire prevention, detection, and alarm, means of escape, means of extinguishment, and asset protection systems. As a result, the report will be investigating the most appropriate equipment, methods, and techniques to ensure fire safety in all five phases.

The limitations are;

This report will only recommend fire safety measures depending on the site layout location. Any changes to the layout or scope of the submarine construction will also infer a change in the positioning of the fire equipment orientation and location.
The hall is not protected with fire suppression systems but there is an on-site fire service.
Moreover, the fire engineer in charge of fire control systems in the submarine will have the responsibility of consulting with the chief plant engineer to determine the number and positioning of escape scuttles at every deck.
The construction team will be trained on fire regulations and provided with fire manuals. In addition, fire drills will be performed at certain points in time to ascertain the fire safety preparedness of the entire construction team. The final fire systems will be sufficient to keep safe the 65 crew members who will be using the submarine.

The sponsor of the submarine construction will be updated weekly on the fire preparedness of the construction team by the project manager by the guidelines of RRFSO (FSO) 2005. The client will be required to meet the expenses of fire safety as well as compensate the standby fire department officials from the local authority.

2.1 Phase I: Pressure Hull and Module Construction
This phase of the project has less than 50 members exposed to hot works under offline ship systems. While the boat location is still in the construction hall, exits available are on both sides of the module that are both open. The workers are still exposed to normal ventilation and workers can easily evacuate in the event of a fire for about 18 months. In many construction sites, potential dangers are severe with high-risk activities like hot works alongside fires that spread quickly (NFPA, 2015). ...Download file to see next pages Read More
