AME <Aviation Maintenance and Engineering> <Student Name> <Name and Section # of course> <Instructor Name> <Date> Aviation Maintenance and Engineering In modern aviation safety is most essential and focused factor. This has in turn brought the fatality rate of aircrafts and air crew to a very low extent as compared to the early years of flying history…

Introduction

All of the maintenance savvy institutions were established in the 1960’s with a sole goal, to increase safety and life of their equipment and aircrafts. The first institution that was built was known as RCM (reliability-Catered maintenance) but united airlines engineers. This was followed by Boeing’s MSG which till present is known as the standard which has to be followed (Kinnison, 2004). All the details of such practices are highlighted in this report and will try to cover the modern aspects of aviation maintenance and engineering as well. Current Issues In the modern era, the aviation industry is faced with a constant threat that is known as human error. Although a lot of research work has been carried out to pin point the loop holes in human psyche, even then there is an alarming rate of accidents caused by the negligence of the human hand and mind. The maintenance of aircrafts includes fast turnaround time, high pressure and a high number of tasks being performed at the same time. All these factors ca n lead to the lowering of human work manners while working on an aircraft or its components. ...

Condition based maintenance optimization: Solution implementation in practice and Condition based maintenance methods
The prime objective is to maximise the uptime of machines and other equipment. Maintenance techniques have evolved over the years and have been adapted to various situations. Some programs are customised to maximise uptime. Others are designed to minimise the cost of spares while others are optimised to minimise human interference. The term maintenance is taken as the combination of technical,…
Impact of Technology Throughout Aviation
This paper will begin with the history of aviation methods, systems, and equipment that were used prior to the 21st century. The information provided will include laws and regulations, environmental issues, safety procedures, training, design, and management that have been incorporated to enhance aircraft operations across the various levels of an organization. By reviewing actual accident…
System Safety Engineering in the aviation industry
Nevertheless, it is arguably true that the modern forms of transport are more expensive and definitely more risky than the traditional forms of transport. The aviation industry falls under the modern transport systems and its contribution to the creation of a global economy is unquestionable. Statistically, over 2000 airlines in the world operate about 23,000 aircrafts in over 3700 airports. The…
Monitoring, tracking, and control technology on aviation industry.
The return of the airline systems to their normal schedules largely depend on the need and emergency of the schedule. For instance, there may be airline systems that require the schedule to get back to their normal plans by the next day. Hence controllers in this regard would cancel the flights or shift the passengers to other carriers, and then have time for the necessary measures (Yu, 1998,…
Maintenance Operations in Aviation : Impact
Giving a brief history to the flight, the Aircraft Accident Report that was drafted by the National Transportation Safety Board (1986) on the accident actually pointed to certain facts that are of importance to the present study and the literature review. One of such facts has to do with the indication that on the day of the accident and at the time of the take off, the weather was very clear.…
Engineering Disasters
Investigations unearthed this with a number of recommendations being made to the FAA and the ATA. The disaster led to establishment of measures and guidelines to improve safety of aircrafts and passengers. The disaster had a great impact on material engineering with a resounding need to ensure proper composition and quality of products so as to ensure safety of the users. Table of Contents Table…
Introduction to Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is among the oldest engineering branches. The branch has also been named as the ‘mother’ branch of engineering. One appealing characteristic of mechanical engineering is the extreme broadness and diversity of its application base. Nearly all inventions made in the ancient times and most in this modern era are attributed to one or more applications of mechanical…
