According to his argument embracing the popular culture has helped Americans to cope with the consensus of the anticommunist. He says that popular culture does not convey originality. It is not well developed in terms of aesthetics.

The writer continues to say that movies that have had a popular culture theme have received little attention from the mass. Despite the fact, that some movies have used the popular genre of popular culture they did not sell very much. The novel Red Storm Rising and other works by Tom Clancy have sold greatly. Clancy’s novel is in the context of thriller style. They have historical lessons and use images and symbols to represent the idea behind the novel. The genre thriller that Clancy used has flourished over time and has best explained the crisis of civilization during that century.

The foundation for a modern thriller was laid down by Joseph Conrad, John Bunchan, and Erskine Childers. Walter (4) examines the work of the three writers and places them as those of modern thrillers. Authors like Eric Ambler rose and started writing real literature instead of mere spy tales. They involved moral characteristics in their tales and they used the heroic formula to develop the theme in their story. The Americans had become fond of the British tales, but when writers like Mickey Spillane did a book in an American style it sold much.

The United State became become domestic communist and read more of these books. Walter presents works of the writer and movies that have sold due to their thriller genre. The Red Storm Rising is one of those books that see the writer winning the award and selling several volumes. Walter says that the thriller style of doing movies and writing stories has seen many books sell even in America. Walter presents quite a several works that have been done. He presents Reagan the administrator represented in Clancy’s text as a cult of national security.

Walter analyzes the book Red Storm Arising. The use of popular characters in Clancy's novel makes them sell. Reagan's popularity makes Clancy's novel sell. Clancy uses immensely powerful themes that involve American culture. This success is seen by the popularity that they have. We can admire Clancy's heroes and these keep us wanting to read more about the book. The heroes are presented as highly skilled, disciplined, truthful, and thoroughly professional. The novel provides relief when they overcome evil.

They take our country's victory during the time it fought so hard to attain it. Clancy’s novel is symbolic of the Americans. In the novel, the American wins and can overcome the foreign enemies that it has. The kind of life that is presented in the novel presents the real life of the Americans. The foes that America has been causing inflation in the country, stigmatization, and dehumanization. America is not at peace as monsters are stalking them.
