This proposal describes the education fair, which will be held at Bran Tertiary College in January 2015. The event will be conducted over a period of three days in seeking to reach a large population of the target individuals who are parent, students and other education stakeholders. The proposal presents the theme of the event as “Education with Value,” aimed at communicating the potential benefits of education to the different attendants. The proposal also provides an analysis of the different requirements for successful undertaking of the event. Details of the occasion and programme have also been described. EVENT OUTLINE Proposed event : Education Fair 2015 Organisers : Avenue Occasions Bran Tertiary College Date and time : January 2015 (exact date to be confirmed) Duration : 3 days Venue : Plenary Hall, Bran Tertiary College OBJECTIVES The event will seek to achieve the following objectives To provide a platform for different tertiary colleges to showcase the available training and career opportunities. To create awareness on the entry requirements for different academic programmes; degree, diploma and certificates among others. To create an opportunity for one-on-one interaction of various stakeholders in the education sector To generate a forum to promote and launch different educational services and products targeting different stakeholders in the education system. To provide an interactive opportunity for educational providers and consumers to engage with each other for various benefits PEST Analysis Political Changes in political policies as a result of change in governments. Security threats from terrorism might deter attendance of some people Government policy is widening the access to education. Economic Educational change in line with the current economic growth trends in the country. Alignment of academic programmes towards enacting economic growth and development in the country. Advancing economic empowerment through assessment of the financial need and development of programmes meeting these needs Social Presence of many colleges making decision making difficult in selecting a college. VENUES The event will be organised in a hall where the involved participants who will be showcasing their products and services will be given stands to present their work. This will be critical in seeking to ensure that all the participating groups are located within the same place for ease of access for the different attendants who will be participating in the event. The event will be organised in an easily accessible location which will be easy for the participants to reach the venue. The venues have excellent facilities, which include air conditioning and proper lighting in the halls. The combination of these factors makes the experience of the attendants a memorable one. There will be sufficient free parking just outside the venue for the event that will cater for individuals who have vehicles. The available options are the hall located in the city and the plenary hall at the college. While the environment at the city hall is equally good there is need to market the college as well hence the Plenary Hall at the college will be used for hosting the event. This will also ensure attendants of the event get an opportunity to experience other services provided within the college since they cannot be described. The attendants will be able to view the college facilitates in order to understand how the learning environment within the college would feel. PROGRAMME DETAILS The theme for the occasion will be “Education with Value.” This theme will be the basis upon which the various presentations in the event will be developed. The affair will be purely seeking to promote different aspects of education which include the modern trends and the significance of different educational programmes to the social needs of consumers. This will ensure that the established objectives of the event are met through satisfaction of the attendants. The event’s participants will be able to work together with diverse stakeholders with the aim of sharing information reading different aspects of education. Consumers of education programmes will also be able to meet with the providers who can provide support like funding for different educational requirements of the consumers. Public transport to the event will be provided from the city to the site at a subsidised rate to ensure that there is an increased attendance. This will be critical in ensuring people who do not have knowledge of the location can easily access the venue and attend the event.
