The hotel industry can be distributed into different segments such as motels, hotels, traveling and lodging agencies and among these segmentations, a wide range of hotels concentrate on full services. The hotel industry is a mature and competitive sector, and this industry is growing rapidly and growth is expected on the international level as compared to the domestic level; classification of the hotel can be done in several aspects. If history is considered then the major acquisition of hotel and non-hotel companies were common.

However, with the time trends changed, and different things started taking place, selling of ownership to international investors, product segmentation, and the addition of luxuries took place. Now hotels rather than to base on categorization, try to add segments under a single roof (The Economist, 2013). However, in order to take the first number in the race of competition, each hotel is adding up the features and trying to approach wider markets through which they can enhance their profitability.

One effort, which has been done in this domain, is the building of conference rooms. By adding conference rooms, hotels are enhancing their competitive advantage because they just not targeting the leisure people only but business people as well. 1.1.1. Current status of the hotel industryCurrently, by adding different segments and becoming full-range service provider hotels are making up a huge industry. In the prior arena, the industry was giving the tourist full possibility of staying at the place they do not know even.

This allowed tourists to feel free to move from one to another place and having experience of home while out of the country. This increased the potential customers but with increased globalization. The industry started expanding its operations and began to introduce business facilities in order to enhance profitability. It has been expected that the global hotel industry will reach up to $480 billion in the year 2015. Industry players are responding to the increasing demand in many ways such as by expanding the operations, by adding new services and making developments at new places and in the existing properties as well.
