Marriage Marriages are considered to be made in heaven. However this is strictly not the case in this world anymore. It is now more of a compromise and a situation that asks for hard labor than anything else. What this means is that marriage ruins the very basis of two persons who are bound to live with each other for the rest of their lives and this is a myth that has been making the rounds of so many people in the times much like today. Marriages take into account a number of factors like it is considered as a commitment on the one side while a reparation or self punishment on the other.

Then at times it is also seen as a legal contract between two individuals so that they could live for the rest of their lives under a piece of paper which states that they are bound to live in that manner, no matter what happens. This is simply a demeanor that takes a lot of flak for reasons best known to the individuals who have gotten married as well as their families and the people associated with them. A marriage can exist if it is taken as a commitment – a bond or responsibility that one half of the marriage would take care of the other and vice versa.

However it could be so very negating if both the halves start fighting and begin to ruin each other’s lives for some odd reasons – known best to their own selves. The basis with which society calls it a commitment is the fact that both the man and the woman have to understand that they have to make sacrifices for each other and there is no hiccup on this issue. At times, it is considered a sacrament or a punishment if the marriage is imposed on two people for some reasons that are out of their domain and if the male and female are not bound by these reasons, they would seek divorce from each other and thus rid themselves of the pains associated with marriage.

This sacrament is somewhat of a worrying picture for the marriage in general and both the male and the female coming under this marriage in particular since it would eventually shackle the basis of their bonding – if ever there was one so to speak. It is best to compromise in such a situation and if the same does not solace, then it would be better to part ways with each other and spend some time out of each other’s company to find out the respective worth. As far as the issue of legal contracts is concerned, this is indeed a very alarming situation since if the man and the woman keeps thinking on those lines, there marriage is never considered a happy and joyful one and there would be a lot of fights between them and eventually the end result would be one of a disastrous kind for all concerned.

It is best to understand each other rather than running out of reality. BIBLIOGRAPHY Willis, Ellen. Can Marriage be Saved? A Forum. The Nation, Vol. 279, 5 July 2004 Word Count: 510
